Summary: You are part of the team who has been sent on mission. You are a laborer in His field.
Luke 10:1-2 tells us, “After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
When I was a kid, I was always picked last. I suppose I had less to contribute to the kickball universe. Sometimes, in fact, the other team would say, “You can have him,” insinuating their team would be better without me.
Reality check: You made the team. You were picked. You are part of the team who has been sent on this mission. This mission is not a game. This is not a dress rehearsal. This is the real thing. You are a laborer in His field. Likely, someone prayed a prayer, asked the Lord of the Harvest for workers and you were the answer. You are on the team.
I did not get picked for kickball, backyard football and more. But we made the first team in the Kingdom. Who is on your team that you need to celebrate today? Who do you need to call and make a big deal that they are on the team today? He has chosen the foolish things of this world and made a glorious team. Rejoice.
